A three-layer coating provides the best and longest-lasting corrosion protection because it combines the excellent anti-corrosion properties of epoxy resin and the excellent mechanical properties of polyethylene.

Unlike the two-layer coating, which is intended for operating pipeline temperatures up to 50˚C or up to 70˚C, the three-layer coating is used for the following temperature ranges: up to 50˚C with low-density polyethylene (LDPE), up to 80˚C with medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) and up to 85˚C with high-density polyethylene (HDPE).

Preparation of the pipe surface is performed by sandblasting to a grade of Ca 2 ½ with steel shot and angular steel granulate.

The coating consists of the following three layers:

  • a layer of epoxy resin (FBE) applied electrostatically to a heated pipe at a temperature of 180˚C to 220˚C
  • a layer of adhesive applied electrostatically immediately after applying the epoxy resin
  • a layer of polyethylene applied by extrusion into a hose

Coating thickness: 1.5mm to 3.7mm depending on pipe diameter; 8mm upon customer request

Pipe length: 6m to 12.2m

Each pipe is marked with a text containing the trademark and company name, dimensions and quality of material and standard according to which the pipe is made, as well as the type and standard for the production of the outer coating. In the case when the pipes are packed in packages (diameter less than 219mm), the marking text is on a label attached to each package.
