Hot-formed hollow sections with square and rectangular cross-sections, manufactured from cold-formed and high-frequency resistance welded (HFW) steel tubes with a circular cross-section of medium size, occupy a significant place in the production program of FZC 11 OKTOMVRI AD.
Unlike cold-formed hollow profiles, where a state of triaxial internal stress is always present as a consequence of strengthening in the cold forming process, hot-preformed hollow profiles are characterized by a homogenized normalized structure and high mechanical properties.

Maximum utilization of the mechanical characteristics of materials, from unalloyed quality and fine-grained unalloyed and micro alloyed steels, i.e. the application of calculations in structures based on their ultimate strength, has contributed to a significantly increased demand for these products with higher qualities and an expansion of their range. This trend is especially noticeable on the European Market, where each of the united members has managed to impose technical conditions and range through its national standards, thus giving designers a wider choice.
Hot-formed hollow profiles find very wide application in the most responsible structures exposed to high dynamic loads and low temperatures: in construction as steel structures for tall buildings, roof structures, bridges, halls, sports facilities, in shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, transport and vehicles, etc.
